Gothic can be sexy

Well, I explain what a Goth is almost impossible, since there are many interpretations, but I will focus on the main form. Goths are a subculture, style and unique way of thinking. Goths have a very dark things. This does not necessarily mean they are evil or malicious people, as many seem to think. These are people who have gone beyond conventional ideas and thoughts of the vast majority of people.

The Bible says that while a man grows wiser, more suffering. These people have been able to think for itself and has acquired a pessimistic and fatalistic philosophy which regards the world and its inhabitants. And do not blame them.

Gothic is usually an artist at heart. The fine arts are an important part in the life of the majority. The fascination for the arts manifests itself mostly in music and literature, but still covers almost the entire spectrum. Among the classics favored by Goths are Dante, Lord Byron, Tolstoy and Edgar Allan Poe. As you can see, a Goth is considerably more educated than the average person. They also love history, more than anything the Victorian and Edwardian. They also tend to discuss religion and its development and place in modern society. Gothic music usually deals with issues of reflection, focusing on the evil caused by society, racism, war and discrimination.

The modern Goth culture can also be defined as a cross between the hippies of the 60s and punks of the late 70s.
Well, more or less. The Gothic is usually peaceful as a hippie, but also tells a "fuck your mother" to the world as a punk. In fact, the Gothic culture stemmed from the punk culture, but more of that later.

It is clear that there are many very superficial pseudogout,
artificial and pathetic. Idealism do not know, have no idea what it means to be Goth. These are the famous "Poseurs." Most of these people are simply looking teenie boppers attract attention, or feared to feel special. These weyes eventually grow and forget all the fart.

But goths tend to be somewhat intolerant and
exclusive to people who feel not worth it (something like ninety-odd percent of the world population). If you often tend to be helpful and assist those in need, no matter what kind of people are, but still a gothic usually behave in a curt and dismissive with almost any average person. They move in very closed circles and try to push people who do not belong in a certain way or do not identify with them. Naturally also feel a great contempt for the "Poseurs" or those who seek to
exploit their image in the mainstream.

HISTORY OF THE GOTHIC MOVEMENT

Apparently, the gothic culture has existed for centuries, but was not named as a separate movement until the middle of old olive trees. It was not strictly a phenomenon of western Europe (the Russian culture, for example, has always been remarkably Gothic), but the factors identifiers in large part come from Western Europe.

"Goth" was a name originally referred to the barbaric Germanic tribes (Visigoths) who controlled much of Europe during the Middle Ages. "Gothic" was also a word used to describe a style of art and architecture, and was originally a derogatory term used by people of the Renaissance to indicate his contempt for the "raw" and "dimly lit" gothic culture compared to yours.

The Middle Ages, was in fact very Gothic. There was a fascination, on the borders on obsession, with the contrast between good and evil, death and the struggle between purity and decadence. There was also a lot of art and literature remarkable about these issues (between 300 and 1300 AD), and this was a very influential factor in creating the Romantic movement.

IXX century, a movement called Romanticism was created. He focused on fantastic themes, extremely emotional, about the same struggle between good and evil, sensuality, and often death. This move came a smaller one, epitomized by writers such as Byron and Shelley, who was considerably more morbid and decadent. This morbid movement later became
known as gothic, in part due to the appreciation of its leaders to the style "Gothic" of the Middle Ages.

The Victorianism repressed sensuality of Romanticism and
Gothic, but retained the good-bad dictonomía and obsession with death, all with a strong sense of morality and of course, retained the dark impulses under pressure and with a tendency to explode in bizarre ways by others.

The twentieth century came and technology began to grow exponentially. Much of Victorianism had been extinguished. The two world wars killed more death and grief of people could have imagined, and the awakening came a determination to make life more prosperous and hedonistic.

In the late 70s punk movement was created. The punks were mostly pseudorebeldes desmadrozos following a trend of the times, plus had some remarkable principles of individualism and anti-conventionalism. This second group was where it came from an already very identifiable group of modern Gothic. The music was key. Groups such as UK Decay, Bauhaus and the Banshees were separated to define punk movement. In the 80s the conservative movement, conformism and being stupid and ignorantly portrayed as happy were the only forms of acceptable behavior. The world economy was in
recession, and the gap between rich and poor began to grow tremendously. All this formed a climax point in the goth subculture.

In the late eighties and early 90s Gothic adifundirse began more through various musical genres, with groups such as Suspiria, Beseech, Paradise Lost, Moonspell, etc, and then continue with films such as Seven, The Crow and programs TV and X Files and Millennium. Here began a new school of pseudogout surface that have invaded the scene and have been serious because of stereotyping by the people.

MYTHS ABOUT GOTHIC

Goths are different from other people. People often
condemn what they do not understand or does not belong. Consequently, a number of assumptions were made and created several stereotypes.
We have to clarify a few points:

- They are not satanic

- They do not believe vampires

- They're not dangerous or violent

- They are not obsessed with murder

- Not all are drug addicts

- Only a tiny minority is gay

- They are not suicide

- There are sadomasochistic

- Not all wear black

- Not all wear makeup

- Not all tattoos and piercings use

- Not all dark music listening only.

- There are a subculture based on the music (though this is an almost indispensable part of any gothic life).

- They work to attend, classes to attend, pay taxes
have cars and houses, often volunteering in their communities and as productive as most, if not more

- Most have artistic tendencies, but not all are musicians composing dark, pretentious artists, or writers freak comics. Some do these things, of course, but others weave, make jewelry, they write everything from humorous essays to novels, cook, sculpt, photograph, do gardening, dancing, making movies, designing games, or are wrapped in hundreds of other creative activities .

- They are not there to scare people (most of
time), stealing their money, to corrupt their children, or do anything else to live the life they chose. For that matter are not so different from the rest of the world.

WHY ARE SO Goths depressed all the time?

"If You Were happy all the time, you would not be human.'d Be a game-show host."
- Veronica (Winona Ryder) in Heathers

As I said before, the more knowledge, more suffering. Nor are depressed all the time. Modern culture oppresses all kinds of individualism and self-expression, brainwashes people, makes life paintings. All this produces a series of dark or negative emotions. If Gothic choose to play the role of the tragic and depressed "artist martyr" ("Oooh, the anguish!", Said in a tragic voice with the back of the hand artfully placed against the forehead), but most the Gothic
no way are. Most, in fact it is stupid and ridiculous. There is some darkness in the character and emotion of the Gothic, which is the essence of culture, but does not reach those extremes. The reasons:

1. It is a form of rebellion. It is a reaction to our culture that tells us that being constantly happy and never show the opposite is the only acceptable way to behave.

2. A fascination with the dark side and banned for life, which is generally disturbante considered taboo by most people. In addition to once again be used as a form of rebellion,
Most are genuinely interested in this, by nature, and enjoy exploring the feelings that brings and examining why it exists and why people try to deny it.

3. A tendency to be extremely analytical combined with a high level of emotional sensitivity and empathy, which
often causes great sadness to see how horrible and cruel
life can be. This personality type dominates
the "gothdom" as it is also the type of personality that creates the artist, and artists are welcome to gothic culture. In young goths, this anxiety is usually focused on themselves, but in mature Gothic is with the world. These people often try to improve things but often find themselves stumbling over their excessive self-analysis and become frustrated because of the difficulty of making progress.

Goths always try to avoid clinical depression or
any other behavior disorder. They tend to be
emotional and expressive, and so his attitude is more noticeable dark - but just as cheerful attitudes. Goths tend to express their
trend towards the dark in a morbid mood. That clearly seems to be the only thing that is less appreciated that the attitude
dark. Anyway ...

MARILYN MANSON

Ok, well I want to be clarified once and for all.
Marilyn Manson is NOT Goth. That idiot has nothing to do with movement or idealism that being gothic represents. It's just a corporate lamevergas without the slightest sense of what art means. Maybe the lyrics of Antichrist have some
depth, but for the rest of both their music and its lyrics, it sucks. people incorrectly associate the Gothic with Marilyn Manson. Manson presented himself as a follower of the Church of Satan. Indeed he was ordained by its founder, Anton La Vey. Many of his fans call him "Reverend Marilyn Manson." All this despite the wey imaging just did and I doubt that believe a word of what he preaches. The point is that not every clown who wears black, she painted her face and talk about
hell is Gothic. If there are Satanic Gothic, but they are a minority.

Hello, I am not gothic but I think you spent overlooked two things. The first can be summarized in a book this extract:

"" Really I find it difficult to understand, Inspector. Convert you a joy to tragedy based reasoning.
"Now you flatter me, Garzón.
- Why?
"Because this is what the basis of culture and civilization,
my friend.
"Go have a drink, head, need it.
"I'll take your health.
But I took it. Even the alcohol would have succeeded in raising
the mood, so I went to bed. He preferred the darkness of the mind to any vain attempt to be happy. "
Snakes in Paradise

Alicia Giménez Bartlett

and the second is the linkage with the fantastic, it also has to do with the first. The Gothic also emerged as opposed to rationalism everything that happens can be explained scientifically: it rains by the condensation of water of the seas, the sun is hidden by the earth's rotation ,.... That loss of magic for some it was a tragedy .

Fear and horror are the most indispensable if desired
actually known to man in his prime. Perhaps the
ignorance in the science of human knowledge is due to the false modesty of those who have dared to write about it.
Chained to their prejudices and fears, they just tell
childishness that everyone knows, not venturing to inquire into the claims labyrinths riddled with ghosts, the human soul, or to describe and communicate their findings to their peers.

Goths we have spoken and we do, but not all. The prison of life adelate is the image of the loneliness of a universe inhabited by the monstrous creatures that torment the soul.
Goths are at the bottom of the symbol of the isolation, to achieve a communication impossible, to reflect all that heaviness
is life, all the feelings orgasm, but may
seems no one understands.
In any case, the signs that fall on Similar
pleasures become for us.

The Gothic suggest that fear is removed from the hidden and
irrelavantemente conventional and raised to the dark reality of
human destiny. Scientific knowledge has taught us that
world is broken, that the notion of life is more than mere existence
between the moments of a split time and it becomes the
sleep to wakefulness. Thus, the last aspect of the world and
knowledge is death: a knowledge which can be obtained
unknown pleasure. Thus the Gothic look that coexistence with oneself, that
escape from everyday life, that experience the maximum
feelings.

Gothic philosophy is difficult to understand, since this is there
but everyone interprets it as the means and how it feels.
Then try to explain briefly and simply.

The Gothic reflects that society has oppressed and subjugated to
nihilist, totalitarian system which does not leave us be and we
want to have alienated, so you could say we are dead,
Although we live, we are doomed to die just because it is
the only thing we are born and the only certainty we have, so the
Gothic shed is all that and experiment and find
As a society and the world do not, those feelings, that
joy and smile to say hello. The Gothic reflects that solitude
people have despite being surrounded by more people. That
death awaits us at every moment everywhere.
The full feel the feelings, whatever this and that
we can die anytime.
The society represses expression of feelings, except with
commercial funds, so the Gothic reflects that indifference to
life and feelings, beauty to the ephemeral to the ethereal
magical human, indifference that becomes armagedon
internal emotions and feelings in an emotional ecstasy
own.

The black dress, the makeup, having many holes or
tattoos are for aesthetics, to show something we like and we
you see, when our society's aesthetic models
give beauty the television and not personal taste.
In any case, each dress, kind of makeup, piercing,
Tattoo etc.
